Specialty Programs
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, an estimated 5.4 million Americans were living with Alzheimer ’s disease in 2012.
How can we help?
Making sure your loved one receives the care they deserve is at the top of our to-do list. Enterprise Home Care offers the aid of professionals who specialize in Alzheimer’s care and are pre-trained to support Alzheimer patients in the following areas:
Memory stimulation:
Brain games, such as crossword puzzles and word searches are proven to help stimulate the mind. We spark conversation with the patient in topics that are interesting and meaningful to them.
Meal preparation:
Caregivers are trained in addressing dietary concerns, including diabetes, food allergies and chewing ability. Caregivers' serve patients’ meals exactly how they like and make sure they stay hydrated.
Mobility Assistance:
In the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s, a patient’s ability to walk or stand may be hindered. Caregivers’ help patients stand on their own two feet in a familiar environment, their home, and assist in moving them from one place to another.
Benefits of Alzheimer’s care include:
Did you know?
Many patients discharged from an inpatient facility find themselves back in the hospital within 30 days due to lack of proper nutrition, irregular medication usage, dehydration or a fall.
What can a hospital sitter do for you?
We understand that taking time off to be in the hospital with a loved one is challenging. A hospital sitter serves as a valuable resource to your family member who requires around-the-clock loving care. Certified nursing assistants and home health aides help prevent accidents, such as falling or the pulling out of IV’s. Hospital sitters do not provide any medical attention, but rather serve as a helping hand for your loved one through quality supervision, ensuring their comfort and safety. Hospital care sitters also tend to nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and assisted living residences.
Hospital-to-Home Care:
Discharge orders recommend assisted care for the next few days. Your hospital care sitters will work to ensure that your loved one returns home, and stays there.
How a hospital sitter can help:
The last thing you want to do after having a new baby is worry about errands, cooking and housekeeping. Transitioning into your new life with a newborn can be challenging; your time and attention is essential for bonding with them during their first stages of life.
We understand that an addition to your family is a joyous and exciting step, so while you’re spending time at home with your new baby, having a homemaker to take care of household responsibilities can give you more time for the important things in life, enjoying your newborn.
If you are a new mom recovering from a C-Section or any other complications requiring bed rest as directed by a doctor, a professional homemaker can provide bed rest assistance for new moms.
New Parent Services include:
Housekeeping and errands:
Homemakers will take care of laundry, grocery shopping, household chores and preparing meals and formula.
Sibling care and transportation:
When you’re tied up, having a professional homemaker to take your children to and from school and extracurricular activities is a huge help.
Emotional support:
A homemaker can help ease the overwhelming feeling of having a newborn and lend a helping hand whenever you need it.
Medical attention and bed rest assistance:
If the doctor orders bed rest or medical attention, a homemaker can watch over you and assist in any way possible.
Our Welcome Home Program is a service offered to those who are transitioning back home after an outpatient surgery, a stay at the hospital or rehab center, or just need a little extra help getting home and settled. This service takes the worry out of the transition.
Our transitional care specialists are trained caregivers who will transport you home, if needed, and ensure that you are comfortable, safe and well taken care of. By doing this we want to provide a sense of confidence as well as reduce your chances of being sent back to the hospital for the same illness or condition.
List of Services
The Welcome Home service is a four hour assignment. If you choose to use our aide for transportation home, to the grocery store or to the pharmacy, a per mile fee will apply. Let Enterprise Home Care help you make the transition back to everyday life a little bit easier.
Additional time and services are available upon request if you feel you need more than just one visit.
Call today with your discharge date and information. We are always happy to help!
Respite Care Relief
What is respite care relief?
Respite care is short-term relief for your family caregiver. It provides a break from the demands of ongoing special care for rest and rejuvenation. Respite care relief is tailored to fit your schedule and needs, promoting life balance and compassionate care.
How can we help?
Is your loved one resistant to the idea of outside help? Not a problem. Professional caregivers are experienced in earning the trust of individuals and can slowly ease your loved one into the idea of outside assistance. Your Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will start out with small tasks around the house, such as light housekeeping or laundry.
As your loved one becomes more comfortable, the caregiver will slowly transition from an HHA or CNA into the role of a companion, giving you the break you deserve.
Everyone needs a break sometimes, so sit back and let a professional caregiver or homemaker do the work. Certified caregivers are experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate with patients.
A caregiver can be the perfect helping hand in cases dealing with special needs, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and diabetes.
