Wartime Veterans or surviving spouses of Veterans may be eligible for 10-20 hours of home care per week provided by the Veterans Administration. This program can provide 10-20 hours of home care per week for the rest of your life! We work with Veterans and their surviving spouses to complete and file their benefit paperwork so we can help determine what benefits they are entitled to.

How it Works

Most VA benefit applications take 6-12 months to get approved and involve an extensive application process and ongoing monitoring to maintain the benefit. Ninety eight percent of the time a person needs to have home care in place during the 6-12 month application process in order to get approved. The cost of this care can be too high for many Veterans – in addition to the fact that the Veterans do not know if their benefit application will even get approved and allow them to be paid back by the VA for their care costs during the application process. The risks are just too high for many Veterans and their surviving spouses so they usually do not end up applying for the VA benefit.

We work with Veterans and their surviving spouses to complete and file their benefit paperwork so we can help them get approved.

 

ELIGIBILTY

Who is eligible?

• Wartime Veteran
• Surviving spouses of wartime Veterans

Requirements:

• Wartime Service (or widow of wartime Veteran
• Medical Expenses
• Based on household income and assests
• Assistance needed

Service Requirements:

• Served at least 90 days of actual ACTIVE DUTY
• Served at least one day during a war periord other than dishonerable discharge.

Age and Medical Criteria:

• over the age of 65
• Meet income and asset requirement
• Amount of pension will depend on medical expenses of veteran or widow.

What  you get:

The Veteran or surviving spouse gets to have 10-20 hours a week of care, starting after the pre-qualification approval period, from a quality home care provider without paying a penny now or ever.

Services Offered

The following list is an example of some of the Veterans home care services you may be eligible for assistance with:

Bathing/showering

Toileting

Feeding (i.e. need help to actually eat their food – not prepare it)

Dressing/undressing

Transferring in/out of bed/chair

Incontinence (lack of bowel control)

Ambulating (walking)

Keeping oneself ordinarily clean and presentable

A mental or physical incapacity that requires assistance/care on a regular basis to protect patient from hazards in their daily environment (i.e Alzheimers, etc.)
